Universalmente el 1 de diciembre es el Día Mundial de la Lucha contra el SIDA, oportunidad para concientizar a la población de la importancia de la prevención y acceso a la información. En ese contexto, la Oficina de Protección a la Comunidad LGBTIQ+, el Departamento de Salud del municipio andino, además de otros actores convocados, invitaron a toda la comunidad a la Expo “es positivo cuidarse”, donde habrá testeo masivo, prevención y diversas actividades educativas relacionadas a esta relevante causa.
En esa línea es que Mariana Sepúlveda, encargada de la Oficina Municipal de Protección a la Comunidad LGTBIQ+, realizó un llamado a participar de dicha expo y señaló: “este encuentro es un esfuerzo de diversos actores tanto de la municipalidad, además de centros de salud como el Cesfam Centenario y Cordillera Andina, quienes acompañados por actores de la sociedad civil entre los que cuenta la agrupación Féminas Diversas, buscan concientizar y visibilizar esta enfermedad y cómo poder prevenirla”.
Asimismo Jorge Valencia, matrón del Cesfam Centenario, señaló que las cifras de contagio de este virus han aumentado notoriamente, por lo que invitó a la comunidad a participar: “el VIH es una enfermedad de transmisión sexual que afecta a todos por igual, por eso que este 1 de diciembre buscamos a través de esta actividad poder concientizar a la comunidad y educar a través de la prevención, tendremos testeo rápido que será confidencial en el lugar, donde cualquier persona podrá acceder”.
